Doctors Day 2024
Doctors are the soldiers of the country, those who don’t fight at borders but dedicatedly work to save lives and improve life expectancy while putting their lives at risk. Their contribution towards human health is beyond expectations.
The Indian Government officially declared National Doctor’s Day as July 1 in 1991. The decision was made in order to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.
This year’s theme for National Doctor’s Day is, “Healing Hands, Caring Hearts
- This is day is to celebrate and recognize the commitment of Doctor in their profession
- It is a day to appreciate people who believe that “Each Life Matters” and relentlessly strive towards saving lives
- It is important that we not only recognize their ceaseless efforts but also inspire others towards the same.
The students of Hindustan International School Karapakkam actively participated in various events in order to honour the Doctors who tirelessly serve us.
The gists of the events were as follows:
Grade 1 and 2 -Rally in school campus – Children made placards related to health awareness, precautions about our personal hygiene, They went marching around the school campus saying ‘Happy Doctors Day’ And thank you doctors for Saving our lives.
Grade 3 and 4 -Formation of Herb Garden – Children got seeds to form a herbal garden in the school campus Each class along with the class teachers planted their seeds in the ground.
Grade 5 and 6 -Curating a First Aid Box – Children came to know more about the field of medicine and its divisions and how they play a vital role in everyone’s life at some or other point. They came to know the importance of the first aid kit and how it to be used.he importance of the doctors’ roles in society, and to prepare a medical kit (First Aid box) in class and learn the usage of the things in the box
Grade 7 and 8- Gratitude Visit to Kauvery hospital.-
- Dr Anil – Medical Director,Kauvery Hospital Addressed the students and made them realize the pertinence and nobility of the profession
- A Hospital tour was organized to meet Specialists from various departments
- Students greeted and thanked the doctors with a bouquet of Flowers, Doctors interacted with our students and accepted it with love & affection
- Students were taken to endoscopy department, Pulmonary Clinical Embryology department, Fertility centre.
Grade 9 to 12 – Ted talk by a Doctor
Hindustan International school Karapakkam proudly commemorated Doctors’ Day with an enlightening Health Talk specially curated for students in grades 9 to 12. The event kicked off at 11:00 am with a warm welcome from our Dean, marking the beginning of an insightful journey into emotional well-being. We were honoured to host Dr. Vidhya from Kauvery Hospital as our esteemed chief guest. Dr. Vidhya, a distinguished expert in Preventive Health Check-ups, captivated the audience with her profound Health Talk centred on Emotional Health. Her engaging session included interactive activities designed to empower students in overcoming emotional challenges. Notably, students explored the significance of breath analysis, gaining valuable insights into its impact on overall health.
